Galega 100%

On the third day of February 2011 Feiraco was authorised to use the seal of quality GALEGA 100% in its commercial brands: Feiraco Unicla, Feiraco Entera, Feiraco Semidesnatada, Feiraco Desnatada and Feiraco Hostelería.

The seal of quality Galega 100% is owned by the Asociación Laboratorio Interprofesional Galego e Análise do Leite (LIGAL) which ensures that the raw material used in the making of milk and dairy products comes solely from farms entered in the Registry of Dairy Farms of Differentiated Quality, created by virtue of Royal Decree 57/2010 of 8th April.

The Registry of Dairy Farms of Differentiated Quality is a public, information registry of dairy farms that - within the framework of official controls conducted by the Government of the Autonomous Community - have consistently demonstrated that their parameters of quality are more stringent than those required by EU norms and standards.

The requirements to be included in this registry are the following:

1. To hold the "carta verde de saneamiento ganadero". (farm sanitation green card)
2. Accredited compliance with the following milk quality parameters:
   • Germ colonies at 30ºC (per ml) = 90,000 (rolling geometric average over a two-month period).
   • Somatic cell count (per ml) = 350,000 (rolling geometric average over a three-month period).
   • No trace of antibiotics found either in official or auto control simple tests conducted in the last six months.
3. No sanction in the last six months for failing to comply with cross-compliance, health, animal wellbeing or food safety standards. For this purpose, the date when the sanction becomes final is considered.
